Keauhou Beach Hotel Demolition and Kahaluu Ma Kai Redevelopment - Phase I

Keauhou Beach Hotel, a 7-story, 309-room hotel, was built over tidal pools where Hawaiian green sea turtles are known to frequent and located on a parcel with 12 significant historic properties, including the remains of 4 ancient heiau. Although the demolition was a permitting challenge, it was a great opportunity to assist Kamehameha Schools in redeveloping the parcel as the Kahaluu Ma Kai educational center.

The Center, located on a 22.73 acre shoreline parcel, will focus on Native Hawaiian aina-based STEM programs and arts education for keiki and kupuna. Outdoor gathering areas and a restroom facility with associated walkways, driveways, parking areas, and landscaping are being designed for the Center.
