Quad B Schofield

Renovating and modernizing the Schofield Barracks

Provided Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing (UEPH) for 330 Soldiers on the Schofield Barracks. The project included renovating and modernizing the Schofield Barracks Historic Quad B BEQ (Bachelor Enlisted Quarters) Buildings 156, 157 and 158; including upgrades to meet all ADA requirements, additional interior and exterior safety lighting and a designated office to accommodate security personnel to monitor all common area activities. Sensitivity to the surrounding area and building design was included in a new central utility plant building to house solar water heating and air conditioning equipment for the Quad, and meetings with State Historic Preservation Office personnel helped preserve the historic look in the surrounding area. Modifications to existing parking were designed to meet the Department of Defense Anti-terrorism Force Protection standards and provide a new secured covered motorcycle parking area and space for 51 covered bicycle racks. The central courtyard contains areas for future covered pavilions, a half-basketball court, and physical training stations. This project meets Department of the Army Whole Barracks Renewal standards and is targeting LEED Certified Silver in a multiple building campus approach certification.
