Kahuku High & Intermediate School

Naturally ventilated and solar powered

New locker room/shower facilities for the Kahuku Girls’ athletic program and was funded by Title IX. This new building provides a much needed space in close proximity to the athletic facilities. Designed to accommodate 60 students, the program includes a coach’s office, locker room, toilets, meeting area, drying room, shower room, equipment storage room, shower booth room (plus ADA shower), janitorial closet, towel/supply storage, transgender room, heater room, and laundry room.

Hawaii Collaborative for High Performance Schools (HI-CHPS) was integrated throughout the project. The building is naturally ventilated and the domestic hot water system incorporates solar hot water panels.
