The Ka‘iwakiloumoku Hawaiian Cultural Center project consists of new construction located above, and adjacent to the existing Bernice Pauahi Bishop Memorial Chapel parking lot. The programmatic intent of Ka‘iwakïloumoku is to compliment student development by strengthening Hawaiian literacy through oral and written language teachings, and by providing educational services to Hawaiian children and youth that nurture their cultural identities and promote ‘Ike Hawai‘i, or Hawaiian knowledge and understanding.
