Architectural/Engineering Design as well as Construction Management Services of a fuel storage facility consisting of an operations building/lab and four storage tanks in a spill containment basin with piping and equipment for the receiving and dispensing of Jet-A aircraft fuel from and to fuel tanker trucks and aircraft refueler trucks. The fueling facility will provide 1.3 million gallons of fuel via four aboveground, vertical, cylindrical welded steel tanks.
The project also includes an 8-inch fuel line which runs approximately 2,885 feet from the fuel storage facility to a fuel loading rack located within the AOA (airside) at Kahului Airport. In addition to the fuel tanks, operations building, loading racks and associated piping, site work will include a paved roadway, parking area, landscaping, on-site drainage retention basins, and chain link security fencing.
A Shoreline Management Area (SMA) Permit was prepared and processed as part of the project’s permit approvals. Included as part of the SMA application was an EA prepared for the airport development areas.
