Construction Management Services to rehabilitate selected sewer lines in the Kalihi and Nuuanu areas. This Consent Decree Project in the Kalihi and Nuuanu Areas required the open cut sewer line replacement of approximately 26 miles of sewer pipe via open cut method. The cost of each of the phases ranged from $2.1 to $10.4 million with a total program cost of $52 million.
The sewer pipes selected for this project consisted of the lines that were in the worst condition in the area typically ranging between 70-90 years in age and badly deteriorated. All phases of the project were completed prior to consent decree deadline.
The following are a list of the phases, schedule and location of work:
Phases 1A (January 2009 to January 2010): Kalihi with work on Puuhale Road, Kalani Street, Ahuula Street and Kalihi Street
Phase 1B (January 2009 to January 2010): Middle Kalihi with work on Gulick Avenue, Puuhale Road, North King Street and Pinkham Street
Phases 1C (November 2008 – December 2009): Upper Kalihi with work on Gulick Avenue, Kalihi Street, School Street, Middle Street as well as small sections of side streets
Phase 1D (November 2008 – September 2009): Lanakila, South Punchbowl and Pacific Heights with work on Lanakila Avenue, Alaneo Street, Lolena Street, Pacific Heights Road, Wilder Avenue and Captain Cook Avenue
Phase 1E (August 2008 – September 2009): Lower Nuuanu with work on School Street, Liliha Street, Stillman Lane, Waikahalulu Lane
Phase 1F (May 2008 – January 2009): Lower Nuuanu with work on Kuakini Street, Judd Street, and Nuuanu Avenue
Phase 1G (June 2008 – May 2011): Lower Nuunanu with work on Kuakini Street, Funchal Street, School Street, Kauila Street, and Hialoa Street
Phase 1H (June 2008 – January 2009): Punchbowl North with work on San Antonio, Puowaina Street, Prospect Street, Kamamalu Avenue, Concordia Street, Pacific Heights Road, and San Antonio Avenue
Phase 1I (November 2008 – September 2009): Upper Nuuanu with work on Liliha Street
